EIA says US natural gas stocks up 50 bcf in week ended Apr 3

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventories in the US rose 50 billion cubic feet in the week ended Apr. 3, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The inventory was 4.8% higher than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report Thursday.
Total working gas in underground storage was 1.91 trillion cubic feet as of Apr. 3. The stocks were 87 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average of 1.82 trillion cubic feet and 89 billion cubic feet above the year-ago levels, the agency said.
Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. All the regions--East, Midwest, Mountain, Pacific, and the South Central, which includes salt and non-salt regions--saw a rise in inventories. At 1005 IST, the most active May contract of natural gas on the New York Mercantile Exchange was down 0.3% at $2.662 per million British thermal units. End
