Mustard up on low arrivals, higher demand; soybean steady

MUMBAI – Prices of mustard seed rose in Kota and Jaipur Friday mainly because of lower arrivals and higher demand, traders said. Soybean prices were steady in Kota and Ratlam, they said. Groundnut prices in Ratlam were also steady Friday, they said.
MUSTARD seed prices in Jaipur rose by INR 150 to INR 7,300-INR 7,325 per 100 kilograms due to lower arrivals. There is also good demand from crushers for domestic oilseeds as imports have become expensive, according to Marudhar Trading Agency. Mustard seed arrivals across the country were at 700,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg) on Friday.
In Kota, mustard seed prices rose INR 100 to INR 6,850 per 100 kg on Friday, according to a trader. Arrivals in Kota were at 20,000 bags, down 10,000 bags from the previous day.
SOYBEAN prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 2,850-INR 5,850 per 100 kg, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader. Arrivals in the Ratlam market were at 2,300 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), same as the previous day. In Kota, soybean prices were steady at INR 5,400 per 100 kg. Arrivals in Kota were at 10,000 bags, same as the previous day.
GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 3,250-INR 8,200 per 100 kg. Arrivals were at 3,700 bags (1 bag = 30 kg), same as the previous day.
