Total production of fruits is expected to be 1 million tonnes higher at 118.7 million tonnes this year. Production of fruits in 2024-25 rose over 4% to 117.6 million tonnes, primarily due to a surge in output of bananas, mangoes, mandarins, papayas, guavas, watermelons, and jackfruits.

The production of aromatic and medicinal plants is expected to increase to 903,000 tonnes this year. In 2024-25, production of these plants rose to 901,000 tonnes from 726,000 tonnes the previous year.
