MCX iCOMDEX Composite opens higher, supported by rise in component indices

MUMBAI – The Multi Commodity Exchange of India's iCOMDEX Composite index opened higher Tuesday, with all component indices rising. At 1015 IST, iCOMDEX was at 25358.20 points, up 1.2% from the previous day's closing of 25045.67 points.
The bullion index was up 1.4%, supported by the gold index, which was up 1.1%, and the silver index, which was 2.2% higher.
The energy index, which was up 1.4%, was pulled up by the 1.5% rise in crude oil and 0.7% rise in natural gas.
The base metals index on the MCX rose 0.2%, as aluminium, copper, lead and zinc rose less than 1% each.
The MCX iCOMDEX Composite comprises a series of real-time commodity futures price indices and tracks the performance of a basket of commodity futures. It serves as a benchmark for market movements in bullion, base metals, and energy. End
