EIA says US natural gas stocks down 38 bcf in week ended Mar 6

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventories in the US fell 38 billion cubic feet in the week ended Mar. 6, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The inventory was 0.9% lower than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.
The total working gas in underground storage was 1.85 trillion cubic feet as of Mar. 6. The stocks were 17 billion cubic feet lower than the five-year average of 1.87 trillion cubic feet, the report said.
Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. The east and midwest saw a fall in inventories, while stocks in mountain, Pacific, and salt region in south central saw a rise. Inventories in the non-salt region in south central remained unchanged from the previous week. At 0903 IST, the most-active April contract of natural gas on the New York Mercantile Exchange was down 0.2% at $3.241 per million British thermal units. End
