MUMBAI – Oilseed prices were mixed across key markets of the country, traders said. Mustard seed prices fell in Jaipur due to bumper crop arrivals and were steady in Kota. Soybean prices rose in Ratlam as there was good demand from millers and were steady in Kota. Groundnut prices were steady in key markets, they said.

MUSTARD seed prices in Jaipur, Rajasthan, fell INR 75 per 100 kilograms to INR 6,750-INR 6,775 per 100 kg due to bumper arrivals of new crop, according to Marudhar Trading Agency. Mustard seed arrivals across the country were estimated at 1.1 million bags (1 bag = 50 kg). Arrivals on Monday were at 950,000 bags. Meanwhile, traders are of the view that the likely higher output of mustard seed may push prices further down. The agriculture ministry estimated rapeseed and mustard production at 13.3 million tonnes in 2025-26, higher than 12.9 million tonnes last year.

In Kota, also in Rajasthan, mustard seed prices were steady at INR 6,350 per 100 kg, according to Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader. Arrivals were at 17,000 bags, up 1,000 bags from the previous day, he said.

SOYBEAN prices in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, rose INR 100 per 100 kg to INR 2,750-INR 5,550 per 100 kg due to firm demand from millers and lower arrivals, Narendra Porwal, a local trader, said. Arrivals were at 2,500 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), down 200 bags from the previous day. Soybean prices in Kota were steady at INR 5,351 per 100 kg, Sameriya said. Arrivals were at 9,000 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), same as on the previous day, he said.

GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were largely steady at INR 3,100-INR 8,100 per 100 kg, according to Porwal. Arrivals were at 3,600 bags (1 bag = 30 kg), up 100 bags from the previous day. Groundnut prices could increase in the near term on concern about lower output, traders said.
