MUMBAI – Under the influence of fresh western disturbances, scattered light rainfall or snowfall is expected over parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand till Friday, according to the India Meteorological Department. Fairly widespread light rainfall or snowfall is likely over Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

 

Scattered light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning, and gusty winds with speeds reaching 30-50 kilometres per hour is also expected over Jammu and Kashmir on Monday and Tuesday, over Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday, and over Odisha till Monday, the weather bureau said. Similar conditions are also expected over Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from Sunday to Tuesday, over Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar on Monday and Tuesday, and over Jharkhand from Monday to Wednesday.

 

Meanwhile, heat wave conditions are very likely over parts of Vidarbha till Sunday and west Rajasthan on Tuesday and Wednesday, IMD said. Hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail in parts of Konkan on Monday, coastal areas of Gujarat on Monday and Tuesday, and in coastal areas of Saurashtra and Kutch from Monday to Wednesday. Similar conditions are also expected at many places over south and central coastal Andhra Pradesh and north Tamil Nadu with isolated heat wave conditions likely till Sunday, it said.  End
