EIA says US natural gas stocks down 132 bcf in week ended Feb 27

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventories in the US fell 132 billion cubic feet in the week ended Feb. 27, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The inventory was 2.2% lower than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.
The total working gas in underground storage was 1.89 trillion cubic feet as of Feb. 27. The stocks were 43 billion cubic feet lower than the five-year average of 1.93 trillion cubic feet, the report said.
Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. The east, Midwest, mountain, Pacific, and the south central, which includes salt and non-salt regions, saw a fall in inventories. At 0953 IST, the most-active April contract of natural gas on the New York Mercantile Exchange was down 0.5% at $2.980 per million British thermal units. End
