India imported 1.06 mln tn masur in 2025, flat on year

MUMBAI – India imported 1.06 million tonnes of masur in 2025, nearly the same quantity as in the previous year, according to the commerce department data circulated by India Pulses and Grains Association last week.
At 575,534 tonnes, more than half of the imports came from Canada in 2025, followed by Australia, from where India imported 391,420 tonnes of masur, the data indicated.
India also imported smaller quantities of masur from the US, the UAE and other countries, as per the data. End
