NEW DELHI – Delhi's maximum temperature is set to rise further and may cross 30 degrees Celsius on Sunday, Skymet said. The warm weather conditions are likely to persist till mid-next week.
"Delhi has recorded a highest of 31.6°C on 16th Feb 2026, and the record for this month will hang around the same mark," Skymet said. The minimum temperatures have also inched up to low double digits, and prevailing dry weather conditions are likely to continue over Delhi and adjoining areas, it added.
"Reaching the end of February is pointing to precursors of pre-monsoon," Skymet said. The transition towards the pre-monsoon phase is expected to be marked by hot and strong surface winds between Tuesday and Friday, it added.
The northern plains, including Delhi, may also have pre-monsoon showers as an active western disturbance is likely to approach the region at the start of March. Conditions are also becoming favourable for the formation of the first pre-monsoon system over the plains around the same time.
"A twist in the weather conditions is expected around the festival of Holi on 4th March 2026," Skymet said. End
