India, Brazil to deepen farm sector cooperation after ministerial talks

NEW DELHI – India and Brazil agreed to "deepen cooperation in agriculture and allied sectors" following talks between their agriculture ministers in New Delhi Friday, as the two countries seek to expand collaboration in areas ranging from bio-inputs to technology, according to a release by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Brazil's Agriculture and Livestock Minister Carlos Fvaro and Minister of Agrarian Development and Family Agriculture Luiz Paulo Teixeira Ferreira at Krishi Bhawan, where they reviewed current engagements and identified new areas for partnership, as per the release.
Chouhan said India and Brazil share "deep-rooted and friendly ties" anchored in common democratic values and strengthened by regular high-level engagements. He also welcomed Brazil's participation in the AI Impact Summit, calling it "a step forward in deepening technological collaboration" between the countries.
Ferreira highlighted the importance of bilateral cooperation in agriculture and allied sectors and said there were several areas where closer engagement would be mutually beneficial, as per the release. End
