Gujarat to start tur procurement at MSP from Monday

MUMBAI – The Gujarat government has decided to start procurement of tur (pigeon peas) in the state at the minimum support price from Monday, it said in a release Thursday.
The Centre has fixed the MSP for tur at INR 8,000 per 100 kg for 2025-26, following which the area under tur cultivation in the state has gone up significantly, the release said. More than 133,000 farmers have registered themselves for selling tur to the government at the MSP, and about 130 purchase centres in the state have been notified for this purpose, it added. End
