EIA says US natural gas stocks down 144 bcf in week ended Feb 13

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventories in the US fell 144 billion cubic feet in the week ended Feb. 13, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The inventory was 5.6% lower than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.

 

The total working gas in underground storage was 2.07 trillion cubic feet as of Feb. 13. The stocks were 123 billion cubic feet lower than the five-year average of 2.19 trillion cubic feet, the report said.

 

Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. All regions--East, Midwest, Mountain, Pacific and South Central, which include salt and non-salt regions—saw a fall in their inventories.

 

At 0915 IST, the most-active March contract of natural gas on the New York Mercantile Exchange was up 0.34% at $2.986 per million British thermal units.  End
