MUMBAI – Oilseed prices were mixed in key markets of the country. In Rajasthan, mustard seed prices rose in Jaipur due to firm demand for new crops, but these were steady in Kota, traders said. Soybean prices fell in Kota due to sluggish demand and were steady in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh. Groundnut prices remained steady in Ratlam, they said.

MUSTARD seed prices in Jaipur rose INR 50 to INR 6,825-INR 6,850 per 100 kilograms despite bumper arrivals, as there was good demand for new crops with higher oil content, according to Marudhar Trading Agency. Mustard seed arrivals across the country were estimated at 425,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg), up 20,000 bags from previous days, according to GGN Research.

In Kota, mustard seed prices were steady at INR 6,600 per 100 kg, according to Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader. Arrivals in the market were at 14,000 bags, up 1,000 bags from the previous day, he added.

SOYBEAN prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 2,700-INR 5,500 per 100 kg, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader. Arrivals were at 2,800 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), unchanged from the previous day.

The price of soybean in Kota, however, fell INR 50 to INR 5,301 per 100 kg due to sluggish miller demand, Sameriya said. Arrivals were at 9,000 bags (1 bag = 40 kg), down 1,000 bags from the previous day.

GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were steady at INR 3,100-INR 8,050 per 100 kg, according to Porwal. Arrivals were steady at 3,600 bags (1 bag = 30 kg).
