NEW DELHI – Futures contracts of turmeric and jeera were up Tuesday while those of coriander were steady on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange. Turmeric prices rose after falling to their lowest level so far in 2026 on Monday and jeera prices rose after hitting the low for the month earlier in the day. Coriander prices were flat due to lack of cues.

At 1554 IST, the most-active April contract of TURMERIC was up 3% at INR 15,264 per 100 kilograms, after it Monday fell to a low of INR 14,800 so far in 2026 as arrivals rose in the domestic markets. Improvement in sowing conditions and higher acreage are also weighing on prices, analysts at SMC Global said in a note.

However, the fall is likely to be limited as inventories with farmers and stockists are relatively low, Kedia Advisory said in a note. Furthermore, unfavourable weather conditions, including heavy rains in parts of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka, have hit yields, raising concerns over supply.

The most-active March contract of JEERA was up 0.4% at INR 22,350 per 100 kg, after prices fell to a one-month low of INR 21,825 per 100 kg earlier in the day. Prices are sliding as arrivals of the new crop have started trickling into some markets. Expectations of supplies gathering momentum from March are also pressuring prices. Prices also fell due to comfortable inventories and subdued export demand.

The most-active April contract of CORIANDER was steady at INR 10,536 per 100 kg due to lack of cues. Going ahead, inventories, the pace of arrivals, and weather-related developments are expected to shape market sentiment, SMC Global Securities said in a report.
