EIA says US natural gas stocks down 249 bcf in week ended Feb 6

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventories in the US fell by 249 billion cubic feet in the week ended Feb. 6, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The inventory was 5.5% lower than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.
The total working gas in underground storage was 2.21 trillion cubic feet as of Feb. 6. The stocks were 97 billion cubic feet lower than the five-year average of 2.34 trillion cubic feet, the report said.
Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. The east, midwest, mountain, and south central, which include salt and non-salt regions, saw a fall in their inventories, while the Pacific saw a rise. At 1012 IST, the most-active March contract of natural gas on the New York Mercantile Exchange was down 0.7% at $3.199 per million British thermal units. End
