NEW DELHI – Futures contracts of jeera, coriander, and turmeric were up on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange on Tuesday. Turmeric prices rose after falling to a 2026 low on Monday, while jeera and coriander prices rose due to fall in acreage of the spices, analysts said.

At 1440 IST, the most-active April contract of TURMERIC was up 2.4% at INR 16,000 per 100 kilograms, after touching its lowest level of INR 15,516 per 100 kg so far in the 2026 on Monday, weighed down by rising arrivals of the new crop in key producing belts. According to SMC Global Securities, prices are likely to stay weak as pressure from the arrivals is expected to intensify in the coming weeks.

The most-active March contract of JEERA was up 0.5% at INR 23,625 per 100 kg, driven by low arrivals and delayed sowing. Delay in readying fields has made sowing of jeera in Gujarat the slowest in recent years, Kedia Advisory said.

The most-active April contract of CORIANDER was up 1.7% at INR 11,204 per 100 kg due to a drop in acreage so far and fears of crop damage, Kedia Advisory said. A continuous wet spell and below-normal temperatures in Rajasthan has increased the risk of frost and disease in crop, the brokerage said.
