IMD forecasts dense to very dense fog in parts of Uttar Pradesh till Tue

MUMBAI – Dense to very dense fog conditions are likely during the morning and night hours in parts of east Uttar Pradesh till Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department said. Dense fog conditions are expected during the morning hours in parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, and Meghalaya till Tuesday, the weather department said. Visibility drops to 0–50 metres in "very dense fog" conditions and to 51–200 metres in "dense fog" conditions. 


Under the influence of a western disturbance lying over Afghanistan, a wet spell with scattered rainfall or snowfall is expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand till Wednesday, the weather department said. Isolated rainfall or snowfall is likely over the same region on Saturday and Sunday, the department said. 

 

The same weather system is also likely to cause scattered to widely spread rainfall or snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, the department said.

 

Minimum temperatures in many parts of northwest India are expected to gradually rise by around 2–4 degrees Celsius in the next two days, the weather bureau said. In central India, minimum temperatures are likely to rise gradually by 2–3 degrees Celsius in the next two days, the bureau said. 

 

No significant change in minimum temperature is likely over east India in the next two days, after which it could gradually rise by 2–3 degrees Celsius in the subsequent two days, the weather bureau said. In Maharashtra, minimum temperatures are expected to gradually fall by 2–3 degrees in the next two days, the bureau said. No significant change in minimum temperatures is likely over the rest of the country, it said.  End
