All-India cotton arrivals down 14% from previous day at 98,500 bales

MUMBAI – The all-India cotton arrivals fell 14% to 98,500 bales (1 bale = 170 kg) from 114,500 bales a day earlier, according to market participants.

 

Maharashtra reported the highest arrivals at 35,000 bales, followed by Telangana/Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat at 20,000 bales each. Karnataka reported arrivals of 9,000 bales.

 

Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu reported smaller arrivals, according to trade sources.

 

In Gujarat, the Sankar-6 stock quality 29 mm variety of cotton traded at INR 54,300-INR 54,800 per candy (1 candy = 355.62 kg), whereas in Maharashtra, new crop good grade 29 mm cotton variety traded at INR 54,000-INR 54,500 a candy, trade sources said.  End
