IMD forecasts dense fog in parts of Uttarakhand till Sat, Himachal till Sun

MUMBAI – Dense fog conditions are expected during the morning and night hours over parts of Uttarakhand till Saturday and over Himachal Pradesh till Sunday, the India Meteorological Department said. 

 

Under the influence of two western disturbances, a wet spell with scattered rainfall and snowfall is likely over parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand from Monday till Wednesday. Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall and snowfall along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are expected over parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad on Tuesday, the weather department said. 

 

Strong surface winds with speed of 20–30 kilometres per hour are likely over northwest India in the next two to three days, the weather bureau said.

 

No significant change in the minimum temperature is likely over northwest India during the next four days, after which a gradual rise by 2–4 degrees Celsius is expected during the subsequent three days. In central India, no significant change in the minimum temperature is expected during the next three days, after which a gradual rise by 2 degrees Celsius is likely, the weather department said. 

 

A gradual fall in the minimum temperature by 2–3 degrees Celsius is expected over east India over the next 24 hours, and thereafter, no significant change in the temperature is likely in the subsequent six days. No significant change in the minimum temperature is likely over Maharashtra during the next three days, after which a gradual fall by 2–3 degrees Celsius is expected for the subsequent two days, the weather department said.  End
