Mustard steady in Kota; Soybean down in Akola, Kota

MUMBAI – Prices of mustard seeds fell in the spot market of Jaipur, but were steady in Kota. Soybean prices fell in Kota and Akola, but were steady in Ratlam, according to traders.

 

MUSTARD seed prices in Jaipur, Rajasthan, fell INR 25 from the previous day to INR 7,400-INR 7,425 per 100 kilograms due to poor demand at higher rates, according to Marudhar Trading Agency. Mustard seed arrivals across the country were estimated at 150,000 bags, down 5,000 (1 bag = 50 kg). They included 75,000 bags of the new crop, according to GGN Research.

 

In Kota, Rajasthan, mustard seed prices were steady at INR 6,800 per 100 kg and arrivals were at 5,000 bags down 1,000 bags from the previous day (1 bag = 50 kg), said local trader Mahesh Sameriya.

 

SOYBEAN prices fell in key markets of Maharashtra. In Akola, prices fell INR 20 to INR 5,480-INR 5,780 per 100 kg, according to GGN Research. In Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, soybean mandi prices were steady at INR 2,900-INR 5,850 per 100 kg, Narendra Porwal, a local trader, said. Arrivals were also steady at 3,000 bags, (1 bag = 40 kg) up 1,000 bags from the previous day. In Kota, soybean prices were at INR 5,680 per 100 kg, down INR 20 due to subdued demand from millers.
