MUMBAI – Dense to very dense fog conditions are likely during the morning and night hours over parts of Punjab till Tuesday, over Uttar Pradesh till Thursday, and over eastern Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday and Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department said. Dense fog is expected over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha, and north Madhya Pradesh till Wednesday, and over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till Tuesday, the weather department said.

Visibility drops to 0–50 metres in "very dense fog" conditions and to 51–200 metres in "dense fog" conditions.

Under the influence of a western disturbance acting as a cyclonic circulation lying over Punjab and adjoining Haryana, scattered rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are expected over parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till Tuesday, the weather department said. Scattered light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is also expected over parts of Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, and north Madhya Pradesh till Tuesday.

No significant change in the minimum temperature is expected over northeast, central, and eastern India during the next seven days. A gradual rise in the minimum temperature by 2–4 degrees Celsius is expected over Maharashtra during the next three days, the weather department said.

Another fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region from the second half of Thursday, the department added.  End
