Mustard down on higher arrivals, soybean on weak demand

NEW DELHI – Mustard prices eased in key markets of Rajasthan as higher arrivals weighed on rates, traders said. Soybean prices declined owing to weak demand, they added.
MUSTARD seed prices in Jaipur, Rajasthan, fell INR 25 to INR 7,250-7,275 per 100 kilograms on higher arrivals, according to Marudhar Trading Agency. Mustard seed arrivals in the country were at 200,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg), up from 100,000 bags the previous day.
In Kota, mustard seed prices fell INR 50 to INR 6,600 per 100 kg, local trader Mahesh Sameriya said. The benchmark price of mustard seed in Rajasthan fell 1.4% from Friday to INR 7,150 per 100 kg, The Solvent Extractors' Association of India said in a note.
SOYBEAN prices fell in key markets of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, traders said. In Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, prices fell INR 500 to INR 2,300-INR 5,050 per 100 kg, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader.
Soybean prices in Kota fell INR 150 to INR 5,150-INR 5,300 per 100 kg, according to spot prices on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange. However, the benchmark prices of soybean in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, rose neary 1% from Friday to INR 5,350 per 100 kg, SEA said in its note.
