Coal ministry executes agreements for 3 blocks with Damodar Valley Corp

MUMBAI – The Ministry of Coal has executed mine development and production agreements with Damodar Valley Corp. for three commercial coal blocks--Dhulia North, Mandakini B, and Pirpainti Barahat--according to an official release from the ministry. These blocks were auctioned under the 13th round of commercial coal-mining auctions.

 

All three coal blocks are fully explored and account for a cumulative peak rated capacity of 49 million tonnes per annum. The three projects are expected to generate an annual revenue of INR 46.21 billion while attracting a capital investment of around INR 73.50 billion, according to the release. The projects are also expected to create 66,248 direct and indirect employment opportunities.  End
