MCX declares settlement holiday Thu for Maharashtra municipal body election

MUMBAI – The Multi Commodity Exchange of India has declared a settlement holiday on Thursday in view of the municipal corporations elections in Maharashtra.
Since banks will not be providing clearing services on the election day, there will not be any settlement-related activities on that day for the exchange, the MCX Clearing Corporation Ltd said in a notification dated Friday.
Pay-in obligation for trade on Wednesday shall remain blocked from the available Margin Limit of the Clearing Member Thursday. Settlement for trade Wed-Thu shall be conducted on Friday. Members are advised to keep sufficient margins in Clearing Member account for Uninterrupted trading, the notification said. End
