India Nov tea production down over 16% YoY at 124.2 mln kg, says Tea Board

MUMBAI – Production of tea in India fell over 16% on year to 124.19 million kg in November, according to provisional data released by the Tea Board India. The country had produced 148.36 million kg of tea in November 2024.

 

During Jan-Nov, India produced 1,290.58 million kg of tea of different varieties, up 1.4% on year.

 

Tea production in north Indian states fell nearly 19% on year in November to 104.68 million kg while that in south India, at 19.51 million kg, it was 2% down on year, Tea Board said.

 

In north India, Assam reported tea output in November at 60.76 million kg, down 11% on year, while output in Assam Valley at 56.97 million kg was down 9.9%. Production in West Bengal was down 26.8% at 41.27 million kg.

 

In south India, Tamil Nadu reported production at 14.28 million kg in November, up 5.8% on year.
