MUMBAI – Mustard seed prices fell in Jaipur and were steady in Kota on Tuesday while soybean and groundnut prices were steady across key markets of the country, traders said. Prices of most oilseed may rise as imports of edible oil fell as the rupee depreciated, they added.
MUSTARD seed prices in Jaipur, Rajasthan, fell INR 25 to INR 7,175-INR 7,200 per 100 kilograms, according to Marudhar Trading Agency. Mustard seed arrivals in the country totalled 200,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg) on Tuesday, same as the previous day, according to GGN Research.
However, mustard seed prices in Kota were steady at INR 6,600 per 100 kg, after increasing by INR 100 on Monday due to firm miller demand, said Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader. Arrivals were at 6,000 bags, same the previous day, Sameriya added.
