India Apr-Nov natural gas output down 3% on year; LNG imports down 9%

MUMBAI – India's gross natural gas production fell over 3% on year to 23.44 billion standard cubic metre in Apr-Nov, according to data released by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell. The country produced 2.90 billion standard cubic metre of natural gas in November, down over 2% on year.
In November, India imported 2.84 billion standard cubic metre of liquefied natural gas, up nearly 5% on year. For Apr-Nov, the report showed India imported 23.10 billion standard cubic metre of liquefied natural gas, down nearly 9% from a year ago. The country's imports of liquefied natural gas in November amounted to $1.2 billion, the same as it imported a year ago. In Apr-Nov, the country imported liquefied natural gas worth $9.2 billion, down from $10.4 billion in the year-ago period.
The country's import dependence fell to 49.8% in November from 48% in the year-ago period, the data showed. The country's total natural gas consumption in November was 5.71 billion standard cubic metre, up 1% on year while consumption of natural gas in Apr-Nov fell over 6% to 46.24 billion standard cubic metre, the data showed.
