Madhya Pradesh govt plans to buy wheat at INR 2,700/100 kg in FY27, says CM

MUMBAI – The Madhya Pradesh government is planning to buy wheat at INR 2,700 per 100 kilogram from farmers during the rabi marketing season 2026-27 (Apr-Mar), according to the state's public relations department. This is INR 115 higher than the minimum support price of INR 2,585 per 100 kg announced by the Centre for 2026-27. 

 

For 2025–26, the state announced a bonus of INR 175 per 100 kg over the minimum support price of INR 2,425 per 100 kg, compared with a bonus of INR 125 per 100 kg over the minimum support price of INR 2,275 per 100 kg in 2024–25.

 

Speaking at an event in Bilkisganj, Sehore district, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said soybean prices are expected to exceed INR 6,000 per 100 kg by 2028. For the kharif marketing season 2025-26 (Oct-Sept), the Centre has set the minimum support price for soybean at INR 5,328 per 100 kg, up INR 436 from the previous year.

 

Traders from the state said although the chief minister made these remarks publicly, the government has yet to issue an official announcement.  End
