Oil cos achieve 19.8% ethanol blending in Sept, 19.2% in Nov-Sept

MUMBAI – State-owned oil marketing companies procured 843 million litres of ethanol and blended 863 million litres under the Ethanol Blending Programme, achieving 19.8% blending in September. In the first eleven months of the ethanol supply year ending October, they procured 9.05 billion litres of ethanol, blended 9.29 billion litres and achieved 19.2% blending on a cummulative basis, according to the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell's monthly report for September 2025.
The government has targeted 20% ethanol blending with petrol by the end of October 2026 to reduce dependence on crude oil imports, promote green mobility, and support the rural economy.
The government is yet to decide about raising the target for the subsequent period. End
