Need inspection certificate for rice exports to some EU nations, says Centre

MUMBAI – The Centre has put in the requirement for a certificate of inspection by the Export Inspection Council or the Export Inspection Agency for exports of rice, both basmati and non-basmati, to members of the European Union such as the UK, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland, according to a gazette notification by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
A certificate of inspection by the Export Inspection Council or the Export Inspection Agency will not be mandatory for export to other European countries till Apr. 2, according to the notification. End
