MUMBAI – Prices of mustard fell in a key market, while those of groundnut fell in one market and were steady in another, traders said. Soybean prices, on the other hand, were steady across key markets, they said.
Prices of MUSTARD in Jaipur, Rajasthan, fell by INR 50 to INR 7,300-INR 7,325 per 100 kg, according to Marudhar Trading Agency. In the coming days, however, prices could rise by up to INR 500 owing to festival season demand, traders said. Arrivals of mustard across the country were at 225,000 bags, down from 275,000 bags the previous day (1 bag = 50 kg), according to GGN Research.
Mustard prices in Kota, Rajasthan, were unavaiable on Monday, as the market was shut on account of the beginning of Sharad Navaratri, said Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader.
SOYBEAN prices in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, were steady at INR 3,500-INR 4,550 per 100 kg, with arrivals also steady at 5,000 bags, said Narendra Porwal, a local trader. Prices of GROUNDNUT in Ratlam were steady at INR 4,700–INR 5,800 per 100 kg, and arrivals were at 1,700 bags, the same as the previous day. Groundnut arrivals are likely to increase once the weather conditions improve, traders said. Arrivals were at 1,731 bags, up from 1,205 bags (1 bag = 30 kg) the previous day, Virvani said.
