MUMBAI – Prices of mustard and groundnut were mixed across key markets Wednesday while prices of soybean were steady, said traders. Edible oil prices are expected to rise ahead of the Navaratri festival starting Sept. 22, they said.
Prices of MUSTARD seeds were down INR 25 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, at INR 7,325-INR 7,350 per 100 kilograms, according to Marudhar Trading Agency. Arrivals of mustard seed across the country were at 250,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg), down from 275,000 bags the previous day, according to GGN Research.
Mustard prices at Kota in Rajasthan were steady at INR 6,700 per 100 kg, Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader, said. Arrivals were at 5,000 bags, down 1,000 bags from the previous day, he said. Due to heavy rainfall, arrivals were moisture-laden and there was little demand from millers, he said.
