MCX to change trading unit, last trading day for Nickel futures contracts

MUMBAI – The Multi Commodity Exchange of India has decided to modify the trading unit and the last trading day for Nickel futures contracts, it said in a release. The Nickel futures contracts will be available for trading with the revised specifications from Aug. 18, it added.
After the modifications, the third Wednesday of the contract expiry month will be considered the last trading day, and if that day is a holiday, the preceding working day will be considered the last trading day, it said. Until now, the last calendar day of the contract expiry month was considered the last trading day, according to the release.
The trading unit will be revised to 250 kilograms from 1500 Kgs previously, the exchange said. The modified contract specifications and trading parameters of the contract as specified shall be binding on all the members of the exchange and constituents trading through them, it said.
Further, for applicable margins and delivery and settlement details, members are requested to refer to the circulars issued by Multi Commodity Exchange Clearing Corp. Ltd. from time to time, as per the release. End
