Mustard, groundnut prices steady; soybean mixed

MUMBAI – Prices of mustard and groundnut were steady in key markets across the country, while prices of soybean were mixed, said traders. Prices of oilseeds are likely to increase in the coming days on higher demand from mills during festivals, they said.
Prices of MUSTARD seed in Jaipur, Rajasthan, were steady at INR 7,475-INR 7,500 per 100 kg, according to Marudhar Trading Agency, an agricultural commodity trader. Arrivals of the oilseed across the country were also steady at 365,000 bags (1 bag = 100 kg), said Rajesh Patel of GGN Research. In Kota, Rajasthan, mustard seed prices were steady at INR 7,000 per 100 kg and arrivals were at 6,000 bags, said Mahesh Sameriya, a local trader.
SOYBEAN prices in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, were unchanged at INR 4,100-INR 4,900 per 100 kg. Arrivals were also steady at 2,500 bags, said local trader Narendra Porwal.
In Gondal, Gujarat, soybean prices rose INR 100 to INR 3,800-INR 4,300 per 100 kg and arrivals were at 11,280 bags, local trader Ashok Virvani said. Argentina has increased export duties, making imports into India costlier, which led to a surge in demand for domestic produce, pushing up prices, traders said.
GROUNDNUT prices in Ratlam were also steady at INR 4,800-INR 6,000 per 100 kg, and arrivals were at 1,350 bags, same as the previous day, said Porwal, adding that arrivals will fall hereon due to lesser availability.
Prices of groundnut in Gondal were steady at INR 4,500-INR 5,500 per 100 kg while arrivals rose to 6,510 bags from 1,700 bags on Friday, Virvani said. Arrivals are going to fall hereon as less of the rabi crop is now available, he added.
