Tea Board says exports up 16% on year at INR 75.02 bln in FY25

MUMBAI – India exported tea worth INR 75.02 billion in 2024-25 (Apr-Mar), nearly 16% higher than INR 64.76 billion the previous year, according to provisional data released by Tea Board India. In volume terms, exports rose nearly 3% on year to 257.80 million kilograms in FY25.
Exports from northern India rose 21.7% on year to INR 51.60 billion in FY25, the data showed. Exports from southern India rose nearly 5% to INR 23.43 billion. In terms of volume, exports from northern India rose 8% on year to 161.10 million kg, but those from southern India declined nearly 5% on year to 96.70 million kg.
In FY25, the average price of tea exported from north India was INR 320.27 per kg, up from INR 284.48 per kg the year ago. The average price of tea exported from southern India rose to INR 242.26 per kg from INR 219.92 per kg the previous year, the data showed. The average unit price of tea exported from the country rose to INR 291.01 per kg in FY25 from INR 258.30 per kg the previous year, according to the data. End
