Sugar body, green energy federation to jointly promote cane-based bioenergy

MUMBAI – The National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Ltd. and the Indian Federation of Green Energy have signed a memorandum of understanding to promote sugarcane-based bioenergy and sustainable practices in the country. This collaboration aims to foster innovation, policy advocacy, and the adoption of practical green energy solutions, the sugar federation said in a release on Thursday.
This move will help accelerate the development of green energy ecosystem in India, it said. The MoU was signed during a curtain raiser for India Bio Energy & Tech Expo on Wednesday.
Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding, the sugar federation will share its expertise and knowledge related to the use and applications of sugarcane and its downstream by-products for green energy, facilitate access to research publications and reports, and collaborate in joint promotion and policy advocacy efforts. The Indian Federation of Green Energy will promote sugarcane-based green energy in India and globally. It will also facilitate stakeholder engagement with policymakers and industry leaders, the release mentioned.
The partnership will also help make joint representation before government bodies and provide a platform for coordinated efforts in green energy promotion, the release said. It will help in integrating India's robust sugar industry with its fast-growing green energy ambitions, contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future for the nation, it said. End
