MUMBAI – The Soybean Processors Association of India has urged the government not to sell soybean procured by the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation and the National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India Ltd., till sowing of the crop is over, the association said in a release Wednesday.
Prices of soybean are falling again as the two federations prepare to offload their stocks in the open market through tenders. NAFED had decided to postpone the sale of soybean till June, following which soybean prices rose, the release said.
"We would again reiterate that selling soybean before the sowing has ended sometime in June end, will be disastrous for all concerned and will cause heavy losses to the government and discourage the farmers," the release said. End
