NEW DELHI – Futures contracts of turmeric and coriander fell on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Wednesday, while those of jeera rose. Prices of jeera were higher on concerns over crop and increased wedding and festive demand, analysts said.

At 1628 IST, the most-active April contract of CORIANDER was down 0.2% at INR 7,884 per 100 kg due to muted buying in the local market, according to SMC Global Securities. However, a weak production outlook along with festive demand could bolster prices, the brokerage firm said. Total production of coriander is projected to decline 11% to 630,000 tonnes in 2025-26 (Apr-Mar). In the near term, coriander futures are likely to trade between INR 7,800 and INR 8,200 per 100 kg.

The most-active April contract of TURMERIC was down 0.9% at INR 13,096 per 100 kg on higher arrivals in the Maharashtra market, as per SMC Global Securities. However, the downside is likely to be limited due to increased wedding season demand along with rising export enquires, it noted. In the near term, turmeric futures are likely to trade in the range of INR 12,700 to INR 13,800.

The most-active April contract of JEERA rose 1.6% to INR 22,695 per 100 kg, owing to concerns over crop amid increased demand due the wedding season. Moreover, exporters are active at the current level and buying aggressively in wake of a weaker production outlook, analysts at SMC Global Securities said. In the near term, jeera futures are likely to trade in the range of INR 21,800 to INR 22,700.
