Govt restricts import of platinum alloys, except those with 99% purity

NEW DELHI – The government has restricted the import of all platinum alloys, except those with a purity of 99%, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in a notification on Wednesday. Importers would now have to get authorisation from the DGFT for the inbound shipment of restricted platinum alloys.
India imported platinum alloys worth $2.09 billion during Apr-Nov, as per latest data available with the commerce ministry. India imports platinum alloys mainly from the United Arab Emirates. End
