NEW DELHI – Futures contracts of all spices fell on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Friday. Turmeric fell as harvesting activities advanced. Jeera declined due to favourable crop conditions and increased supply in the domestic market. Coriander fell on muted export demand, analysts said.
The most-active April contract of CORIANDER was down 0.7% to INR 8,226 per 100 kg due to subdued export demand outlook, according to SMC Global Securities. Dhaniya export dropped 60% on year to 29,500 tonnes during Apr-Nov as compared to 73,180 tonnes a year ago. In the near term, coriander futures are seen trading between INR 8,100 and INR 8,400 per 100 kg.
The most-active March contract of JEERA was down 0.6% at INR 21,065 per 100 kg due to favourable crop conditions, high carryover stocks, and increased supply in the domestic market, analysts said. In the near term, jeera is likely to trade in the range of INR 20,700 and INR 21,800 per 100 kg.
The most-active April contract of TURMERIC was down 0.6% at INR 13,132 per 100 kg as harvesting activities advanced. Total arrivals at major physical markets so far in 2025 have been reported at 22,000 tonnes, against 11,300 tonnes a year ago. About 10,600 tonnes of turmeric have arrived so far in Telangana, analysts said. However, the downside is limited on surging export enquiries and upcoming festival and wedding demand. In the near term, turmeric is likely to trade in the range of INR 12,700 and INR 13,500 per 100 kg.
