NEW DELHI – Futures contracts of turmeric and jeera declined on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Wednesday, while those of coriander rose. Turmeric fell as harvesting activities advanced and jeera declined due to favourable crop conditions. Coriander prices increased due to a weak production outlook, according to analysts at SMC Global Securities.

The most-active March contract of JEERA was down 1% at INR 21,310 per 100 kg due to favourable crop conditions, high carryover stocks and increased supply in the domestic market, analysts said. In the near term, jeera futures are likely to trade in the range of INR 21,300-INR 23,000.

The most-active April contract of CORIANDER was up 0.3% to INR 8,200 per 100 kg due to a weak production outlook, according to SMC Global Securities. However, upside is likely to be restricted by sluggish export demand, the brokerage said. In the near term, coriander futures are likely to trade between INR 8,000 and INR 8,400.

The most-active April contract of TURMERIC fell 0.3% to INR 12,922 per 100 kg as harvesting activities advanced. Total arrivals were reported at 22,000 tonnes at major physical markets so far in 2025 against 11,300 tonnes a year ago. About 10,600 tonnes of turmeric have arrived so far in Telangana, analysts said. However, the downside is limited on account of concerns over the quality of the new crop. In the near term, Turmeric is likely to trade in the range of INR 12,500 and INR 13,300
