Govt approves procurement of 96,498 tn of new rabi chana in Karnataka

MUMBAI – The government has approved the procurement of 96,498 tonnes of rabi 2024-25 chana under the price support scheme in Karnataka, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare said in a notification on Monday.
The chana will be procured by the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India and the National Co-operative Consumers' Federation of India Ltd. The state government will notify the commencement date of the procurement, after which the purchase period will be valid for 90 days, the notification said.
The federation will procure fair average quality chana at the minimum support price of INR 5,650 per 100 kg from registered farmers, according to the notification. End
