NEW DELHI – Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor and former chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal on Monday released the party's manifesto--Kejriwal ki guarantee--featuring 15 guarantees for the upcoming assembly elections in the national capital. He also promised free water and electricity for people living in rented accommodations.

Kejriwal promised employment opportunities for youth and INR 2,100 to women every month if his party returns to power in Delhi. The third guarantee, he said, is for the Sanjeevani scheme, which seeks to provide free health treatment to senior citizens in government and private hospitals.

The AAP also promised clean water round the clock to all households in the national capital. Kejriwal also announced waiving wrong water bills and providing INR 18,000 per month to Hindu and Sikh priests if the party returns to power. He further promised to scholarships to Dalit students for studies abroad. For the students in Delhi, Kejriwal announced 50% off on Delhi metro rides and a waiver in bus fares.

Assembly elections in Delhi will be held in a single phase on Feb. 5 and votes will be counted on Feb. 8. Delhi is witnessing a triangular contest between the AAP, the Bharatiya Janata Party, and the Congress party. The AAP, which has been in power for the last 10 years, swept the 2020 state polls, winning 62 of the 70 seats, while the rival BJP had won eight seats. The Congress did not win any seat in the 2020 election.  End
