US natural gas stocks down 125 bcf in week ended Dec 13, says EIA

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventory in the US fell by 125 billion cubic feet in the week ended Dec. 13, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The gas inventory was 3.8% higher than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.
The department pegged total gas in underground storage at 3.62 trillion cubic feet as of Dec. 13, 0.6% higher than 3.60 trillion cubic feet a year ago. The stocks were 132 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average of 3.49 trillion cubic feet, according to the report.
The east, mid-west, mountain, pacific, and salt and non-salt south-central regions of the US saw a fall in stocks in the week, according to the release. At 0953 IST, the most-active January contract of natural gas on the New York Mercantile Exchange was at $3.65 per million British thermal units, up 1.9% from the previous close. End
