US natural gas stocks fall by 3 bcf in week ended Nov 15

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventory in the US fell by 3 billion cubic feet in the week ended Nov. 15, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The gas inventory was 6.4% higher than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.

 

The department pegged total gas in underground storage at 3.97 trillion cubic feet as of Nov. 15, 3.7% higher than 3.83 trillion cubic feet a year ago. The stocks were 239 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average of 3.73 trillion cubic feet, according to the report.

 

The east and midwest regions of the US saw a decrease in stocks, while mountain, Pacific, salt and nonsalt south-central regions of the US saw a rise in stocks, according to the release. At 0827 IST, the most-active December contract of natural gas on the New York Mercantile Exchange was at $3.52 per million British thermal unit, up 3.9% from Thursday's close. End
