NCDEX jeera ends lower on profit booking in muhurat trading session

MUMBAI – Jeera futures on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange fell during the Diwali muhurat trading session Friday as traders booked profits. Trading volume was thin during the one-hour special session conducted by NCDEX between 1800 IST and 1900 IST.
Jeera prices had declined in the physical market on Thursday as traders offloaded their stocks as the festive demand had ended. The physical market was shut Friday on the occasion of Diwali.
At 1900 IST, the most-active November contract of JEERA on the NCDEX closed at the day's low of INR 23,855 per 100 kg, down 1.5%.
Similarly, turmeric prices fell due to expectations of higher production, and as traders booked profits. At 1900 IST, the most-active December contract of TURMERIC ended 1.2% lower at INR 12,730 per 100 kg as most of the markets remained closed because of Diwali.
At 1900 IST, the most-active November contract of CORIANDER closed 0.5% higher at INR 7,250 per 100 kg due to short covering of positions by traders. End
