Wheat, rice prices steady in Vashi; most mkts shut for Diwali

MUMBAI – Prices of WHEAT in Mumbai's Vashi were steady at INR 3,150 per 100 kg, wholesale trader Devendra Vora said. Prices of maize were unavailable as key markets were shut for Diwali, traders said.
Wheat prices from the benchmark market Kota in Rajasthan were unavailable as the market was shut on account of Diwali. Kota market will remain shut till Sunday.
The price of Kolam RICE was steady in Mumbai's Vashi market at INR 6,000-6,200 per 100 kg, Vora said. The price of 1509 basmati rice was also steady at INR 7,300-7,800 per 100 kg, he said. Prices will be steady till Saturday as there is no trade happening in the market due to the unavailability of labourers and workers with Diwali round the corner.
The markets in Davanagere, Karnataka will be shut from Thursday for Diwali and will reopen Monday. End
