NEW DELHI – Major oilseed markets were shut on Wednesday for Diwali celebrations, traders said. Markets will reopen next week, they added.

MUSTARD prices in Jaipur in Rajasthan were unavailable as the market was shut on account of Diwali. The market will reopen next week. Improved buying ahead of the wedding season is likely to support prices, traders said.

SOYBEAN prices were unavailable as the market in Indore in Madhya Pradesh was shut on account of Diwali.  The market will reopen next week, traders said. Soybean prices are seen down amid high arrivals and moisture-laden quality stocks. However, purchases by the Madhya Pradesh government are likely to support prices in the long run, they added.

GROUNDNUT prices were unavailable as the market in Gondal in Gujarat was shut for Diwali. The market will reopen next week, local trader Ashok Virvani said. An increased supply of moisture-laden arrivals is weighing on prices.
