NEW DELHI – Most markets were shut Tuesday on account of Dhanteras and upcoming Diwali celebrations, traders said. They will reopen in the coming week, they added. Mustard prices in Jaipur, Rajasthan, fell slightly due to slack demand.

MUSTARD prices in Jaipur were down by INR 75 at INR 6,550-6,575 per 100 kg from Monday. Arrivals in the state fell 15,000 bags to 125,000 bags (1 bag = 90 kg), according to Marudhar Trading Agency. Mustard arrivals all over India were down by 40,000 to 265,000 bags, they added.

Prices from Kota in Rajasthan were unavailable as the market was shut on account of Dhanteras and Diwali. The market will reopen on Nov. 5, local trader Mahesh Sameriya said.

SOYBEAN prices were unavailable as the market in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, was shut on account of Dhanteras and upcoming Diwali. The market will reopen next week, traders said.

GROUNDNUT prices were unavailable as the market in Gondal, Gujarat, was shut for Dhanteras and Diwali. The market will reopen after 5-7 days, local trader Ashok Virvani said.
